Girls in Tech to Launch New York Chapter
Girls in Tech, an organization that supports young, professional and influential women to succeed in internet, technology and digital media/entertainment business, will be launching its highly anticipated New York City chapter in conjunction with the well-known tech start-up conference, Web 2.0 Expo on September 16, 2008 at The Cutting Room in New York City. The celebration will carry over to an exclusive launch dinner on September 17th. San Francisco and local Girls in Tech leaders and advisors will be on hand both nights.
The organization was formed in March 2007 by San Francisco tech executive Adriana Gascoigne joined by tech entrepreneurs Jessica Valenzuela and Davina Anthony who host educational events, workshops, and social mixers for women in all facets of the business. The New York City chapter will mirror these efforts locally to help connect and inspire women of all ages in the tech and digital media/entertainment industries. In addition, Girls in Tech gives companies, partners and sponsors the opportunity to reach professional, career focused and like-minded women in tech through the organization’s efforts.
