A user-generated slang dictionary, Urban Dictionary allows the public to define the world they live in. For instance, in SoCal, surfer dudes oftern refer to having a fit body as being “yolked” or in Australia to “chuck a sickie” means to take a sick day when you are fine and in the UK “ram raiders” are drivers who run down anything in their path.
New and interesting words and phrases are what makes Urban Dictionary so intriguing to me, however, it doesn’t stop there. They allow users to chat, upload images and integrate sounds onto the platform. They feature a “word of the day” and an A-Z directory of words that have been shared with the world from all walks of life.
I just LOLed on another word I found. “Hobosexual” is the opposite of a “metrosexual” meaning one who cares little about one’s own appearance. I think I might know a few of those . . .
