Boys Need Toys
I usually write about “girlie” sites, resources or fashion, however, today I thought to give the boys a little meat to bite into by featuring GizmoWatch - A popular online gadget playground for boys or I guess anybody who enjoys checking out fun, new gadgets.
GizmoWatch features several articles on distinct topics (to please those masculine needs) ranging from robotics, music, DIY technologies, to fast moving vehicles, health related exercise tools, semiconductors, travel equipment, security technology and pretty much anything new, shiny and expensive. A pure content based site, GW (not to be confused with the first two initials of the person we call “president”) describes each gadget or technology in extreme detail and provides an honest recommendation if the product is worth investing one’s money or time. For instance, today there was a post titled, “BodyGard Self-Powered Emergency Tool: Your personal body guard.” Even interesting enough for me to read, I scrolled down to check out what the heck they were talking about - It’s basically an emergency power source that can allow hikers, campers or folks in the middle of nowhere, to access energy if necessary. This tool provides adventurers with resources such as:
· A red flash light with both high and low adjustments and emergency flasher
· Digital FM radio with automatic scan and nice led display with antenna and reduce or increase volume features.
· Panic button (be careful of its shrill sonic alarm)
· Motion activated security alarm which you can hang on the door knobs
· A compass to guide your direction
· Signaling mirror to signal for help
· Small storage space for pills, matchbox etc.
· Cell phone charging outlet (you can also charge you MP3 Player)
Cool stuff. Anyway, I actually will be hiking in the jungles of South America soon, and might need a little BodyGard myself. So, you women out there who like techy gadgets, don’t be afraid to read GizmoWatch. It might be written by men, but it sure as hell isn’t “just for men.”
