Fill er’ up

As many of you know, I enjoy browsing the web for interesting, cool, new sites. I recently found a site that just about everyone (above 21 in the US and 18 or 16 anywhere else in the world) would find useful and fun. ExtraTasty shares unique cocktail recipes, features a “Drink of the Day,” provides a social network platform for users to create their own ExtraTasty page. It’s called “My Bar” and is filled with users’ favorite drinks, friends that share similar drink tastes, discussions on new types or brands of alcohol on the market, and pretty much anything drink-related . . .

The home page is simple and intuitive. The “Drink of the Day” is featured on the site with an official user drink rating to the left of the recipe. Underneath that feature is something called “Community Voices,” which serves as a forum for folks to chat about anything related to drinks, bars, recipes, parties, etc., etc. They even have a most popular tags section, along with a “Submit Your Drink Recipe” section and of course, search.

I like this site. It would definitely come in handy when throwing a private party without a budget to hire an official bartender.

The only thing that is slightly disturbing about this site concept is that people are connecting to talk about drinking. Hopefully this won’t turn into an AA forum.

Happy bartending . . .

I like Extra Tasty. It is a bi-product of Chicago-based skinnyCorp which also produced Threadless.com (another cool site).
