Web dissin’
I guess we all knew that it would come to this. “Web-dissing” has made its mark on the Internet with the production of sites like Don’tDateHimGirl and Pigs Anonymous. These websites are awkwardly entertaining focusing on why people shouldn’t date a certain person, why someone’s behavior caused them to get slapped, or even ideas on how to get revenge on a person that did you wrong. It’s hard to believe that all of the stories posted to sites like these are true. Some of them are so far-fetched that you just have to giggle in sympathy or hiss at utter disgust.
I mean, Don’tDateHimGirl posts actual pictures of men that have cheated on their girlfriends and Pigs Anonymous allows users to “report a pig” and provides a 12-step program on how to “de-piggify” oneself. Hmmmm . . . one has to wonder if these types of sites are really inspiring certain individuals to clean up their acts, or at least scaring the hell out of them so that they don’t appear on an online public dis session.
Regardless of all the Internet mumbo jumbo, I think that these sites are feeding a new kind of Internet demographic. The stories shared by Jerry Springer guest-types and advice given by Dr. Phil wannabes is priceless. Check em’ out. You might want to add a few stories yourself.
