Highlighting: “AdFemme”
A few weeks ago while visiting New York, I stopped in to say hi to a friend, Lindsay Mure, CEO of AdFemme. They were throwing an AdFemme networking event at a yoga studio (very moderno), where people were sipping champagne, talking shop and focusing on Lindsay’s ring (she just got married. Congrats my dear!)
Anyhow, I really like how Lindsay has grown her organization, which provides women working in the advertising and marketing industries with the tools to expand their industry knowledge, networks and business opportunities.
We met through a mutual friend Peg Samuel, CEO of SocialDiva. Together, we threw a wildly successful event during AdTech San Francisco in Spring 2007. This event was exciting. We observed the New York ad-savvy folks mixing it up with the San Francisco tech-nerds. Priceless.
More and more female-centric organizations are popping up within every industry. It’s empowering to know that entrepreneurs like Lindsay are stepping up to the plate and creating such resourceful networks for women in their respective fields.
Here’s a little more information on AdFemme. Check out their site if you get a chance!
AdFemme.com was launched in February 2006 as an e-newsletter. In December 2006 Ad Femme Members gained the ability to build profiles with their contact info, bio, company info, picture and favorite quotes/tips. Through the Member Profiles, Ad Femmes can message each other for easy networking and business building. Messaging can be directed to another member or posted in the Networking Room.
In June 2007 The Femme Network re-launched their monthly teleconferences with successful and dynamic women in advertising, media, technology, pr, sales, marketing, working moms, business owners, etc. Femme Members get free access to these teleconferences and the ability to listen to ones they missed. All of their paid and non-paid Femmes enjoy lots of perks like free access to national networking events, monthly teleconferences, weekly newsletters, and online member networking.

I came across your site while I did a search on Google for working moms and your article on Highlighting: “AdFemme” was informative.
