What’s with the GREEN background?

So, as a video blog conosieur it has come to my attention that SO many video blog, entertainment broadband networks use the same lime green coloring as their home page backdrop. I’m not sure who was the big copy cat, or if it’s just a popular color.I love the color green don’t get me wrong, but that’s not the point. Why the heck is everyone using green for their video sites? Could it lure hungry publishers to the site to make some quick ad bucks, because green = money or could it symbolize an environmentally-conscious company (which is the case for Green.tv) or maybe folks are advertising that they are green with envy that so many other video networks are popping up left and right? I’m at a loss. I’ve even spoken to a few people at Revision3 and PodShow about it.I think it’s an interesting coincidence, for which nobody has a clear, concise answer. So, I’ll just leave it at that . . . an unsolved mystery of the video network backdrop . . .
