Video Madness in Amsterdam!?!?
I recently noticed an ad on my Facebook news feed on an upcoming online video awards “celebration” called “Vlogalicious.” As an online video enthusiast, I was wondering how vlogging has become so popular in the Netherlands, pretty much over night. I have never seen an online video spoof from a producer from the Netherlands, or an online video having anything to do with Netherlands. It really begged the question, why Amsterdam? And then I thought, why not?!?!
It’s a modern city with modern values, that promotes innovation in technology. It would be ideal to spread the whole online video production, UGC phenomenon in a region other than Silicon Valley. Where I think we’ve secluded ourselves to thinking we are the mecca of anything techy, videoy or Internety.
Hopefully I’ll be able to attend this “celebration” and discover how online video production and content differs from continent to continent on a deeper level. They are also supported by the Winnies, an online video conference that Irina Slutsky (friend, and highly respected video blogger) created. Too bad I wasn’t able to attend that event. Maybe next year!
