WooMe Launched Today - YAY!

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

So, my friends at WooMe finally launched, their ever-anticipated online speed-meeting site. Now users can access people with similar interests in an instant - five people in five minutes in topical sessions straight from their webcam. Whether looking to meet new friends, find a date, or even find a travel companion, WooMe enables fun, fast and free introductions.

With its public launch today, WooMe is officially open to anybody, anywhere, looking to meet people quickly around common interests. WooMe’s open platform encourages spontaneity and creativity. Users can easily create their own “speed sessions” based on a myriad of diverse topics and interests or join already scheduled sessions. Contrived profiles and outdated pictures are now a thing of the past as WooMe replaces static expression with live interaction.

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression, but with WooMe you can make a lot of first impressions. WooMe can be used in any situation where real interactions matter: whether it be meeting a new friend, finding a new date, or simply meeting new and interesting people,” said Stephen Stokols, co-founder and CEO of WooMe. “In fact, we screen all our prospective employees using WooMe before bringing them in for face-to-face interviews.”

There are no lengthy profiles to complete and no software to download. WooMe’s optimized in-browser video and voice capability delivers the highest quality interactive experience available through a browser today. After meeting five people in five minutes, you decide whether you’ve been Woo’d or not.
