I don’t usually feel the need to cover current events or news the second it comes out, especially because there are about a million other bloggers covering the exact same story. Trying to be original this morning, I was pondering different topics to write about, until I stumbled upon a blog post on GigaOm about Sugar Publishing acquiring Los Altos, Calif.-based ShopStyle.
I have to be honest with everyone, I am absolutely obsessed with the content that Sugar Publishing produces on a daily basis. My favorite articles can be found on the front pages of PopSugar and GiggleSugar. I like to think that I can assuage my girlie, stylish nature by taking time out of my hectic tech marketing life, to read about things I truly enjoy - fashion, style, pop culture, etc. Sugar Publishing is the perfect combination of quality, trend-delivering content, without all of the opinionated jargon that many bloggers feel the need to monopolize.
The acquisition of ShopStyle is ideal for Sugar’s users. Enthusiasts can now discover what the latest and greatest fashion trends are and purchase whatever it is that catches their eye, straight from the site. Genius.
So, in case any of my clients are wondering where I am today and why I’m not picking up my phone, I might just be perusing the ShopStyle site for a few items to plump up my Fall wardrobe.
Sugar, thanks for being such an ideal distraction.
